Through storytelling, I support organisations & initiatives that enable people to connect with nature.
The Community Farm is an organic farm in the Chew Valley, just south of Bristol, working with local people, grassroots communities, wellbeing groups and corporates as well as running a veg box scheme. As a non-profit, the farm champions nature and aims to create a blueprint for what an organic community farm can achieve in terms of creating a sustainable business, enabling nature recovery, and connecting people to nature for wellbeing.
As the farm's content creator, I documented organic farming, nature recovery, and human-nature connection, as well as creating digital and print materials. Projects included campaigns designed to drive business, engage volunteers, and promote events; supporting the farm's successful Crowdfunder campaign; supporting other fundraising goals; creating video and supporting materials to engage a local high school; conceptualising and producing all product photography.

I worked on a freelance basis with these long-running and popular nature-focused publications for more than 7 years, subediting stories and regular features, and contributing to the magazine’s book and TV review section.
I also worked on the brands’ digital platforms, writing news stories and disseminating complicated concepts from scientific research papers to create accessible, engaging copy for a mainstream audience. I ensured copy adhered to SEO best practices, managing the website to cover staff absence, managed social media content for the brands’ extensive followings, and sent out a weekly newsletter to their large subscriber list.

Lagom was an independent print magazine, co-founded by myself and my partner, made for people who care about thoughtful design, independent travel, and a balanced approach to life.
In addition to commissioning new stories and photography, I interviewed many interesting and inspiring independent businesses entrepreneurs, artists, designers, craftspeople, and outdoor enthusiasts as well as editing the magazine and occasionally contributing my own photography.
The magazine also had an online presence in the form of a blog and was active on social platforms.
